Mr Thomas Dalsgaard is Executive Vice President of DONG Energy, has been a member of DONG Energy’s group management since 2011, and is responsible for Bioenergy & Thermal Power. The business unit comprises DONG Energy’s thermal power stations and its biomass business, including innovative enzyme-based solutions for 2G biofuels and waste processing and recycling. The Thermal Power business unit has 800 employees, an annual turnover of USD 1 bn and an annual capex budget of USD ¼-½ bn. Prior to joining DONG Energy in 2008, Thomas held a position as senior economist with the International Monetary Fund in Washington D.C. Other previous positions include head of the management and board Secretariat with DONG Energy during 2003-2004, head of division with the Danish Ministry of Finance during 2001-2003, senior economist with the OECD in Paris during 1998-2001 and special advisor for the Danish Ministry of Finance during 1993-1998. Thomas holds a M.Sc in Economics from the University of Aarhus, Denmark. He is 50 years old, is married to Dorte and has four children.
